Meet Laura
Laura is a licensed social worker who is passionate about helping those who feel stuck, uncertain, or disconnected from themselves. She works with adults and adolescents navigating relationship challenges, struggles with self-esteem, questions around sexuality, experiences of grief or loss, family-of-origin trauma, and ongoing anxiety. Laura also enjoys working with individuals who find that—even though their lives look “good on paper”—they still feel dissatisfied or empty.
At the core of her work, Laura is about slowing down, developing insight, and cultivating trust in oneself. She aims to build a collaborative space where you can uncover the root of what holds you back, allowing you to move through life with greater confidence, clarity, and self-assurance. Together, you will develop an understanding of yourself that integrates all aspects of your person. She hopes to foster a sense of relief, joy, and possibility as you move toward a more authentic and connected life.
Before entering the mental health field, Laura built a career in the tech industry in Washington, D.C. She completed her undergraduate degree at Georgetown University and later pursued her master’s degree at Columbia University’s School of Social Work. Laura’s training included an in-depth focus on prolonged grief, family systems, adverse childhood events, and gender expression.
Laura is working towards her advanced licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), and is currently supervised by Teresa Mendez, LICSW.
